This bowl started as a lump of stoneware and came out of the kiln looking like a Metolius Rainbow Trout.

The glaze runs from a deep, speckled rust at the rim — warm and iron-rich — through a band of golden amber, then settles into a smoky teal-green at the base. It happens differently every firing. This one came out particularly well.

Thrown on the wheel by hand in Bend, Oregon. The walls are thick enough to hold warmth, the form is wide and open — good for cereal, soup, ramen, or just sitting on a shelf and looking great.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Details: Wheel-thrown stoneware · Food-safe glaze · Dishwasher and microwave safe
